Hall's Theory of Oppisitional Reading

I chose this poster because it can be read in different ways and not all the ways it was intented to be read. This is Hall's Theory. This District 9 poster can be viewed in a couple of ways some are intended and others are not. you could see that aliens have come to earth to take refuge which is the an preffered reading as that is what the film is about. some people could see this picture and instantly think aliens have come to take over the world, this is an opisitional reading as it is not what the film is about and doesn't correctly represent the film. The poster is quite bad at representing what the film is about and what is instore for the viewer. It can be very easily taken the wrong way with people.
